Workshop
An eating disorder is a serious mental illness that requires a lot of expertise in treatment. Patients with eating disorders often also suffer from depression, anxiety, personality disorders or substance abuse. In Austria the treatment facility „Therapiezentrum Weidenhof“ offers a multidimensional approach to the treatment of eating disorders. The combination of existential therapy, systemic therapy, animal assisted therapy and body-oriented therapy offers a treatment arrangement that is not restricted to one single method. During the workshop the different forms of eating disorders will be addressed. The workshop will focus on how the combination of the various therapeutical approaches are used in treatment to create a sense of belonging in the patient. A short introductory video about the facility which offers long-term inpatient as well as outpatient treatment will be followed by theoretical input on the subject.
