Workshop
"Hope is not a state in which we live, but a practice. Thinking of hope as a verb not a noun helps make the shift from considering hope as a feeling to considering reasonable hope as a practice" (Kathe Weingarten)
The workshop integrates elements of existential and narrative approaches in counseling and psychotherapy. The participants will exercise in hearing, clarifying and focusing hopes in client work. How to phenomenologically see hope in the client's story? How to notice what is not said (the alternative story)? How to strengthen hope and turn it into meaning and practice? There are simple steps, which we often overlook in practice by focusing on deficits, but which by reseach are decisive for the success of psychotherapy.
The workshop is designated for psychologists, students of psychology and specialists from helping professions.
