Introductie
When one starts intensive group psychotherapy one doesn't know what to expect, comparable to a black box. This holds true for family, friends and colleagues who can't imagine the intensive process the patient is about to embark. The treatment staff of a clinical psychotherapy unit for adolescents, wanted to make the untransparant experience of being in intensive group therapy more palpable for family and also for directors of their major health institute. The black box was made in cooperation with patients and their parents.
Materiaal en methodes
A life size black box of 2.44m x 2.44m filled with things that represent the therapy process including personal items of patients.
Resultaten
unique and moving experience
Conclusie
The excitement of not knowing what to expect, the confrontation with the vulnerability and strength of the patients and their process, is inspiring to all those who enter the black box without ignoring the everyday reality facing healthcare.
