Introductie
Bonding, the experience of being emotionally open and physical close is a biological need to reach a safe attachment.
Experiencing unsufficient bonding in childhood leads to fear of rejection and intimacy and to distrust in others and in oneself. As a defense negative attitudes are developed even before the child can speak such as: “I am not lovable”, “ I am not good enough” or “ I do not need “. However these negative attitudes lead in adulthood to relation problems and an insecure attachment style.
Bonding psychotherapy is group psychotherapy, based on a consistent theory with research showing practice based evidence of its effectiveness.
In the group the participant learns to overcome the fear of closeness and rejection by understanding and expressing the different related basic emotions, fear, anger, pain, pleasure and love.
By expression these emotions in the safety of the group painful and traumatic experiences of the past can be relived and emotionally worked trough.
Conclusie
How expressing of hidden emotions related to old traumatic experiences can be therapeutic, how negative attitudes can be changed and a positive attachment style can be reached will be shown in the presentation
