However, to date, there is no recent research evidence on the condition of school psychology in Italy. The purpose of the study was to add to the existing knowledge of school psychology around the world by providing current information about the practice of school psychologists in Italy.

Methodology.

Invitations to participate in the survey will be issued to the psychologists affiliated with the Regional Board of Psychologists of three Italian Regions (Emilia-Romagna, N = 7487; Marche, N = 2964; Toscana, N = 6713; expected participation rate: 30%).

Participants will be asked to complete an online questionnaire.

The Questionnaire includes 86 items (multiple-choice and open-ended) inquiring about: (a) characteristics (e.g. age, gender, professional training); (b) main activities as school psychologists; (c) challenges and future prospects of the profession.

Key findings.

The data collection is ongoing. The results will be available for the conference.

Implications.

In the light of the findings, the future development of school psychology in Italy will be discussed.
