Summary

Since 1995 the Department of School Psychology of the City of Zurich offers therapy groups for children and adolescents who have experienced a form of trauma. Many children have experienced stressful events during their migration. Others have to deal with traumatic events. The goal is to express experiences in a protected environment and a nonviolent resolution of conflicts. The groups are age-mixed and led by two therapists (man and woman). In addition to the therapies, informing the teachers is important. The teachers get a three-part basic course for dealing with such children. The workshop will give an insight into the long-standing and successful practical work of group therapy.
