Summary

This is an invitation to all participants of previous meetings and any colleagues interested in taking part in a roundtable discussion on retirement; our discussion will be relevant for those currently retired as well as for those considering retirement.

The conference theme, “Empowering People for Lifelong Learning,” is so appropriate for our group and has been the focus of our conversations during previous conference meetings; it is very relevant when thinking about retirement from a lifespan perspective.  Let’s look back on the roads we’ve travelled and “the roads untaken” and look at the possibilities that lay ahead.   Contributions from our different cultures, contexts, and experiences will certainly be highly enriching while we compare factors that are strengthening or threatening along with persepctives on changes in our profession over time, well-being in our personal lives, and our contributions to the younger generation.
