Summary

This study examined the designing and implementation of an inclusive support system for students with disabilities at a private university over five years, facilitated by organizational consultation with school psychologists. In the first year, a committee comprising school psychologists and others was formed to design the support system. Through monthly meetings, the committee formulated regulations, determined procedures and requirements for reasonable accommodations in learning, developed a transition support system for the university and an employment support system for graduation, and designed and implemented staff and faculty development to disseminate them. For the employment support system, the committee coordinated with the social service agency in the community and provided services that met the students’ personalized needs according to individual disabilities. Throughout the process, the school psychologists were engaged in not only organising an inclusive support system but also designing and implementing services individually. In conclusion, for the development and establishment of such support systems in schools for students with disabilities, it’s imperative that school psychologists actively work with administrators and stakeholders in the respective organizations to incorporate the ‘support’ into the system.
