Summary

The paper presents the results of research aimed at the mapping the conditions of work of school psychologists in Slovakia. The research was conducted through focus groups with school psychologists, with whom we discussed various topics. On the basis of their statements, we summarize the needs, requirements and possibilities of lifelong education of school psychologists in the context of Slovak schools. The most problematic area, which is not automatically provided for in Slovakia, is the supervising leadership, assistance in solving moral dilemmas, and providing enough courses where the psychologists, who work in schools, can see the meaning and usability. At the end, we provide an overview of topics related to the requirements of school psychologists with regard to the education system in Slovakia.
