Summary

The global aging has become the trend of today's social changes. With the contemporary family structures and living arrangements, health care and life extension, retirement and financial planning, life adaptation and career planning, the social well-being of the elderly has become the goal of all countries in global. This paper discusses the significance, function and needs of the education. Through the way of literature discussion, introduces Taiwan's current policies on the education. Including the welfare of the elderly, the lifelong learning law, and the white paper on the education policy for the elderly. The interviews of a lifelong learner explore the development of Taiwanese education and education policy, analyze the interviewers' own experience. The interviews found that various education for the elderly, Taiwan has not only established a learning system for the elderly in the localization, but also trained professional teaching staff. Secondly, elderly are willing to contribute and serve join volunteer group. To promote the goal of self-directed learning and the activities of the elderly education,  everyone can pay attention to the relevant policies of lifelong education for the elderly to meet the learning needs of the elderly. Finally, propose the recommendations and directions for future reforms.
