Summary

The newsletter World-Go-Round (WGR) was established by Calvin Catterall, the founder of ISPA. Recognizing the role of a newsletter in the the growth of school psychology internationally, Catterall ensured that the WGR contributed to the establishment of a strong and viable international association. Specifically, he used WGR was a primary communication tool in the early years to organize international leaders in school psychology, announce professional exchange tours and share the news of a growing coordination of likeminded pioneers in school psychology. In the early 70's, he, along with Frances Mullen, formed the International School Psychology Committee in APA and NASP (Oakland, 2003). The role of WGR in a thriving association is increasingly important and requires outreach, renewal and review. The purpose of the workshop is to provide a brief history of the WGR, to discuss ideas for the future and the role of an association newletter that remains vital to the changing needs its membership. All are welcome to this Roundtable Discussion.
